Ms. Elsche Cronje

I am working as a junior ecologist in the Southern Kalahari. I have gained valuable experience in the environmental consulting field and biodiversity related projects. I am currently busy with my M.Sc. in Environmental Sciences under the supervision of Prof Klaus Kellner and Ms. Chrizette Neethling. My study is focussed on the population dynamics of Vachellia erioloba (Camel thorn tree) woodland near Kathu by looking at die-back as an indicator of environmental stress and recruitment rates as an indicator of sustainability. A better understanding of these dynamics can lead to the implementation of better management strategies by development agencies.
